Your Heart Knows Things Your Mind Can't Explain

Why do we close our eyes when we cry, pray, kiss or dream? Because the most beautiful things are not seen but felt. Faith is seeing light with your heart when your eyes see darkness. Your heart knows things your mind can’t explain. 

No one knows what you are going through but you. People will talk about you, judge you, point fingers, blame you. Their opinion of you is just their opinion. If you are not hurting anyone or in the wrong, ask yourself, ‘does it really matter what they think?’ Walk your own path. Be your own person. Do what is in your heart. Your heart knows things your mind can’t explain.

It’s better to bruise a heart with the truth than break it with a lie. When someone truly cares, they are honest with you, and they come from a place of love that has your good in mind, even if the truth hurts. Then there are some that seem to say everything you want to hear about how much they care, yet something doesn’t feel quite right and you wonder if you are crazy for feeling like they are lying. Watch their actions, see if it matches up to their words. Your heart knows things your mind can’t explain. 

Sometimes you meet a person, and you just click. You are comfortable with them and you don’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything other than your best self. It was like your soul saw them, and it kind of went “Oh there you are. I’ve been looking for you”. It’s like a best friend but more. A soulmate. Someone who makes life come to life. Someone who makes you the most “you” you can possibly be. The one person who understands you, the one person who makes you a better person. No, actually, THEY don’t make you a better person. YOU do that yourself because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone you carry with you forever. Even if you do not last forever. The one who sees you at your worst, and brings out your best. The one you are comfortable sharing your biggest achievements with and your deepest insecurities, or just sharing silence comfortably. The one who knows you, accepts you, and believes in you, the one who your soul loves too. A soulmate isn’t just found in romantic love, but in friendships as well. “Important encounters are planned by the souls long before the bodies see each other (Paul Coelho).” Your heart knows things your mind can’t explain.

Yes, It’s really amazing when two strangers meet and become best friends. But it’s really sad when two best friends become strangers. Trying to forget someone you love is as difficult as trying to remember someone you never met. It is hard to tell your mind to stop loving someone when your heart still does. Your heart knows things your mind can’t explain.

We are born to love and feel, express compassion, kindness and empathy. Do so generously and without expectation of a return. Look out for magic and mystery every day. Add a sense of humour and lots of fun. Enjoy the moment. Come alive. Help your heart know things that your mind can’t explain.  

Our eyes aren’t what make us see. In fact, never trust what you can only see. Even salt looks like sugar. Look within yourself. Be still and pay attention to your inner voice. Be Mindful. Make time to meditate. Make time to find some peace and calm in your day.

Make the little decisions with your head, and the big ones with your heart. Coz Your heart knows things your mind can’t explain.
